Bosch steam’s forward at the Science Week 2018

Education is key for the future viability of meeting the challenges of tomorrow, where Bosch invests highly into education. Science and Maths education mould scholars into the problem solvers of future problems, who will be key in shaping the world as we know it. Science Week 2018 provides a focused educational platform aimed at scholars of all ages, in which corporate organisations are invited to get involved through sponsorship and participation.
Science Week 2018 is hosted by the Deutsche Schule in Pretoria and Johannesburg respectively where scholar from previous disadvantaged areas are brought in to enjoy the learning experience which takes place in the form interactive and problem solving learning techniques. The fundamental platform of Science Week, allows Corporate South Africa to engage at an education level.
In support of the initiative, the Bosch President for Africa, Dr Markus Thill has dedicated more than 18 hours to the Science Week by giving interactive lectures on encryption and decryption methodology to students in grades ranging from 5 to 10.
Dr Markus Thill confirmed, “The higher the quality of education throughout a student educational career is vital as it ensures the next generation of leaders in a strong advancing economy.” The personal investment of Dr. Markus Thill and the team at Bosch into the Science Week 2018 reinforces dedication to the further advancement students in South Africa.
The power tool team presented the grade 10 with the go-kart challenge in which the students are required to design and build a go-kart in a few days where they will compete not only in a race by for the best design.
The Building Technology team arrive with a fully equipped trailer, where a game of “good and bad guy” played out in testing security technology from Bosch was the order of the day. The scholars learnt about algorithms, setting of rules with the advancement of security technology in supporting human interaction of protecting environments.
Yesteryear to vehicle Technology today was the theme presented by the Automotive Aftermarket team where students engaged with Bosch advancement in vehicle technology where Bosch diagnostics testers was set-up for a practical fault finding exercise.
Education is builds the future stars of society today, where investment in education is the responsibility of all including Corporate South Africa.
