“Made in South Africa” proudly produced products at the Bosch Brits facility which occupies some 77,915m2 consists of two manufacturing plants and a training facility, holding the ISO 14001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016 quality standards. The Electro Mechanical plant manufactures starters, alternators, wiper motor systems, body electronics and brake callipers. The Electronics plant produces electronic units for both automotive and non-automotive units. Bosch is a global company, where South African original equipment manufacturers benefit from international designs and advances in technology.

In applying best practice of lean manufacturing principles, the facility layout minimise waste of materials and operator movements. Highly motivated and multi-skilled Bosch Production System (BPS) operators that allows for movement resources around the manufacturing lines as the customer demands dictate thus ensuring high levels of productivity. Machine cell layouts have been designed to lend itself to a high level of flexibility which allows us to accommodate a high level of complexity and fluctuation in volume and variation in derivatives.

The electronics facility boasts some impressive international standards in technology with Surface Mount Technology placing up to 20 components per second onto a PC board, with an accuracy of 40 microns. Automatic Optical Inspection for solder paste application inspection as well as electronic component placement accuracy inspection. For corrosion protection of components, accurate conformal coating stray technology is use and finally, x-ray technology for the inspection of non-visible or hidden details.
